About Pickspry

A small publication for the buying questions that big review sites skip.

Last updated September 26, 2026

Why Pickspry exists

Search for a narrow buying question, such as which hummingbird feeder keeps bees out or which heater suits a three gallon betta tank, and you usually find one of two things. Either a big review site that answers a broader question, or a thin page that lists ten products and says nothing about why.

Pickspry is built for the narrow question. Each page takes one specific problem, explains what actually solves it, and names the products that fit, with the specs and sources that back each choice.

What we cover

We publish in a small number of sections so that each one can go deep:

  • Backyard Birds: feeders, baths and the problems that come with them
  • Small Aquariums: equipment sized for betta and nano tanks
  • Knives and Sharpening: whetstones, flattening plates and technique

More sections will open only when we can cover them properly.

How the guides are made

Every guide is research based. We read manufacturer spec sheets and manuals, guidance from expert organizations, and patterns in owner reports. We do not run a test lab and we never claim to have used a product when we have not. Each guide lists its sources at the end so you can check them.

Guides are written with the help of AI writing tools and checked line by line against the cited sources before they are published. Every product is confirmed as a real, currently listed item, and every spec is traced to the maker or the listing. The full process is on our editorial policy page.

How Pickspry makes money

Product links go to Amazon search results. As an Amazon Associate, Pickspry earns from qualifying purchases. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or not. We do not accept payment from brands to include a product, and a brand cannot buy a better position in a guide. Details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
